Probably visual and audio spoilers. This trailer does give away a few of the "dazzle" shots and "pithy quips".

Yeah, it's just movie spoilers I'm trying to avoid. When I saw RotK for the first time ( on opening night, after months of spoiler-hunting and behind-the-scenes-feature-watching), I felt rather deflated and let down. I guess I had been expecting so much from all the stuff I'd been watching that even the amazing movie itself couldn't live up to my standards. (By the time I saw it the second time, that was all gone and I was madly in love.)
Ever since then, I've tried really hard not to go spoiler crazy. I avoided a lot with Serenity (I probably could have done better with that one), Harry Potter 3 and 4, and a lot of my other favorite movies. It turned out that I enjoyed the movie-watching experience that much more because I didn't know what was coming. I'm kind of dorky that way I guess.

I saw a TV spot for Narnia last night and it had The Trailer VoiceOver Guy, which seemed really out of place for this movie. Anyone else get that vibe?

Yeah, I got the same thing Enigmatic. It was just out of place. I felt the same for Lord of the Rings actually. Maybe its a fantasy thing. Or just well written fantasy books being made into movies.

I feel absolutely no need to avoid spoilers for a story I know already.
For me pure "movie spoilers" are like "spoilers" that tell you the number of chapters in a book, or the sentence structures the author uses most.

Does anyone want to offer me a summary of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? It's been 9 or 10 years since I read it, so my memory of the full story is vague at best.

*GASP*. Its not a hard read ... I read the full series in a week (that equals one book a day) when I was 9. Read it ... its much better than any summary. Though if someone wants to try ...

Yeah, well it's easy to say "read it" when you don't have about 700 pages of reading to do for finals. I understand it's an easy read (as I said, I read it and the rest of the series a long while back when I was still in elementary school), but I just don't have time to read (or the money to go buy copies for that matter).

It's all in the Bible. WARNING: SPOILERS FOLLOW.................4 children open a door and find themselves in another land full of talking animals and magical creatures, which is ruled by an evil witch who turns her enemies into stone. Legend has it that 4 human children will come and put an end to her reign. So when she finds out these four have come she wants to destroy them. One of the children betrays the other 3 and goes to the witch's side, only to find out too late that she's only interested in using him as bait to get the others and she means to kill them.
The other 3 children follow some animal friends to meet the True King, Aslan the Lion, who hasn't been in Narnia for a LOOOONG time. He rescues the one boy by trading his life for the traitor's. The witch kills Aslan and sets off with her rabble to finish off the rest of Aslan's followers and the children. But by a deeper magic than the witch knows, Aslan comes back to life. He brings back to life all the creatures the witch has turned to stone and they go to help the children fight the witch's armies. The good guys win and the children become kings and queens, until one day they stumble back through the door into London and discover the whole adventure took no time at all.

Thanks JennaDean. That did bring back some memories. I remembered the beginning stuff and most of the ending stuff; I just needed a refresher on the middle.

That was very impressive . And I didn't mean to be rude, saying that you should go read it yourself. It's just one of my favorite books, and with all this attention its getting I am perhaps a bit overzealous in trying to get people to read the book before the movie ... same thing happened with Lord of the Rings. Good luck on your finals!

Four hip modern-day American kids are sent off to avoid California earthquakes to a swank mansion. The mansion's swimming pool turns out to be a portal to a land called "Narnia", where a witch (played by Ms. Janet Jackson) enchants one of them with magical burgers and fries.
A good lion named Aslan helps the kids...but only by being a big brave, strong lion. None of that dark fantasy/spiritual undertones stuff in THIS hip, candilicious Narnia! Oh, and there's a lot of leopard "spot" jokes. Because there was just so much of that in the book.

I just watched the trailer. Looks like they've got a little Lion King going on at the end there.
My problem is I've read this story so many times, a couple of dozen I'd bet, that I know it really well and I'll notice everything they've added that wasn't in the book.
One of these days I'm going to learn my lesson and NOT re-read a book right before its movie comes out, so I can just enjoy the movie!
