I know not everyone is a fan of the music of the latest movie. Hoever, I lover Patrick Doyle, and I've been listening to the soundtrack all morning. I love it, especially the final song. The music is poignant and sweet without being sweeping or heroic, and that's how I see Harry. He's almost an accidental hero, and when he survived his harrowing experience and made it back miraculously alive, he didn't come back in glory. He came in tears.
I love this. Does anyone else like the music?

I think it's a good thing. Music is supposed to set a mood, not to be overly intrusive. It can be, by itself, very beautiful, but I think if it is not obvious while you're watching the movie that's how it should be.

I actually didn't like the music in this one as much. I was sorely missing John Williams' touch. I went with a bunch of music majors, and we all said the same thing.

Too bad. I thought it was beautiful, and I bought the soundtrack. I didn't want to do that with any of the other movie's scores.

I did notice it, but then I fall in the music major category. It's just that the soundtrack to the 3rd movie was so AMAZING in every way (one of John Williams' best ever in my opinion) that it was painfully obvious to me that this score didn't live up to that. I'm glad they left the main theme in, but I really didn't like the rest of it.
But that's just me. I'm glad it was effective for other folks.

I thought the music for the third movie was very good, also. But I still didn't think that the music in this newest addition was any worse.

I didn't notice the music at all, and can't remember any of it, which I take as a bad sign since the music from the other movies played such a big part in my reaction to the films.

John Williams music is good, and I have quite a few of his scores, but it is very obviously his. I'd have to hear the music again, but my automatic reaction to not-John Williams isn't a negative one. Only that it's a change.
I'm very experienced in music but I'm not very auditory (I've forgotten the real word) so I don't pay attention to the music in films and usually barely remember it.

I didn't really notice the music until the credits, but what I liked about it was that it specifically was NOT John Williamsy. John Williams does the best hero music ever, but Harry isn't that kind of hero, the kind with a jaunty theme.
Did you listen to the waltz? It contains magic and ice crystals.
