I'll be attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week. Is there anything y'all want me to look for?

For sure I'm going to check on the LED projectors, which use LEDs for their illumination source instead of relatively short-lived bulbs.

We actually had winter weather in Vegas last January. I remember it was wet and overcast for the whole show. Some company had an artificial snowboarding hill set up with professional snowboarders to promote their product. The rain came along and washed all their trucked-in snow away.

It may often be overcast in winter, but it's warmer than Utah, and no snow. Most plants (such as they are) are still green, too.

Hey, skillery - My husband Dan will be there, too.

He's only going to handle questions for reporters Thursday evening between 3p and 6p, but if you happen to see a "LaCie" booth and an ever-so-slightly balding but still devilishly handsome man in his early thirties you should totally go up and tell him hi.

Have fun. I'm really envious he gets to go without me.

I'm interested in the USB neural interface devices. I'm looking for one that can store a face-to-name matching algorithm and supply the information directly to my prefrontal lobe.

Has that been developed yet?

If not, I'll take one of those cool androids from
Honda.

See what Intel has to say about their new chips. And if there's anything on general LED lights that you put in light sockets instead of bulbs, check that out too.

Ledtronics has them. Google for +LED +Bulbs +Edison +Screw

Ledtronics isn't listed as a show exhibitor however.

Lavalamp, thanks for the tip on the Honda ASIMO. I'll check it out.
