My current purse is falling apart. The strap is dangling by a thread. I really need to get a new one.

I usually just pick up purses from Target, but my mom wants me to get a nice one this time.

I don't really like purse shopping. I like to pick one purse and use it day in and day out. I'm not the type to own a purse for every outfit, so I need something that will match just about everything. And I want it to be cute and fun-looking, with a picture or a pattern or something. And also, I like to be able to wear it on my shoulder, but I want it to fall just below my armpit so that I can hold onto it with my arm and so it doesn't get in my way and swing everywhere.

I kind of like this one, but the metallic parts are goldish, and I only wear silver.

My little Target purse is small and black with grey swirly hearts on it. My other little Target purse is light grey and has that picture on it of the sailer kissing a woman...I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about.

I've looked all over town, and I can't really find one that I absolutely love. At Christmas, I fell in love with this purse by the same designer as the one I linked to, except it was a black tartan kinda design, but the strap was held to the purse by these chain link things that were sort of a pale goldish kind of color. It was light enough that I almost mistook it for silver until my mom was getting ready to pay for it. [Frown]

I don't know where to look! I've gone all up and down Magazine Street and looked in the little shops. I've been to two malls. I guess I should just order one online...or see if I can get a department store to order one for me.

Help? [Frown]

My friend shops for purses exclusively on ebay. The great thing is you can get designer purses for way cheap (as often the expensive purses last longer), and you can probably type in key words to help narrow it down.

I second using ebay for purses. I bought one like this just recently (my hubby calls it my hooker bag). Just be careful about getting a designer one; make sure you read the feedback so you know it is authentic.

Do you wear more black or brown?

Also I wouldn't worry much on whether it has gold or silver, like I wear more silver but I'll buy a purse with a small ammount of gold. But I buy my purses at Target too.

If you sew, you could make your own.

My favorite handbags are all kate spade , but I think most of her stuff is a bit more basic than what you're looking for. LeSportsac has a lot of different patterns in a variety of styles. I've seen a few fun Coach bags, too, but their signature patterns are much too common (and commonly ripped off) for my taste.

Black and only black.

All of my shoes have some black in them.

Tante: Well, you know. The OTHER winos spend their pandhandling money on crack. I figure it's a better investment. [Razz]

I don't use a purse, but it would seem to me that something functional and simple would be a good bet. Tassles tend to look crappy long before the rest of the item (garment, whatever) is close to being worn out. So they make it look like cr@p even if it has a lot of life left in it.

I personally like something in plain leather because it can be touched up.

but then, I'm a 47 year old fat guy with a pony tail.

I've never been one to get excited about purses but the LeSportsac link had me going ooooh. Thanks Jeni [Big Grin] . Do you own any of their purses? Have a good opinion of them?

No, I don't... they're not really my style. I was just trying to think of designers with a lot of patterns or pictures for pH and they came to mind. Glad you like them though. [Smile]
