I have never tried podcasting just because it seemed so annoying to get it all set up. With the release of Itunes 4.9, podcasting is built in! and free!
So what podcasts do you listen to?

I love Phone Tabs from z100
and TwiT

podcasting is like amateur radio. Someone will record it onto an mp3.. which you can then put on your iPod. hence the name podcasting. Its like audio blogging.. but its pretty neat.. i get engadget audio feed, and a leo laporte feed and such.

Hmm, I looked at it. I'm not sure I'd want to clutter my iPod with it.

I did d/l some Pearl Jam though. [Wink]

Hey, a shameless plug... I've now begun Podcasting songs I've created. Anyone who wants to check them out can subscribe by opening iTunes, going to Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast... and typing in the following URL:

http://www.icompositions.com/artists/DavidBowles/podcast.php

It's mostly World, Electronica and some Rock, most with a slight eastern or latin flavor. You might like it... you might not. Just keep in mind that I do music as a way to relieve the stress of being an educator, not as a professional trying to make a living.

On the Podcasting process... iCompositions is doing what a really neat thing in allowing members (for $4 a month) to have their songs Podcasted. I eventually would like to put together a monthly thingy with poetry and short-story reading as well as music and commentary, and the new Garage Band (the program I use to mix tracks and create tunes) is going to make that a lot easier.

Lots of potential in this Podcasting... I'm thinking of having my classes podcast! Wouldn't that be cool...

Podcasting isn't strictly amateur. Many commercial radio stations are putting their brodcasts on the net as podcast. You can subscribe to these radio programs through iTunes (generally free of charge). iTunes will then automatically download these programs daily (or a what ever interval is appropriate) and you can save them and listen to them whenever you please on either your computer or your iPod. It's kind of a TiVo for radio. Although I guess it isn't strictly radio either since their are video podcasts as well.

You don't have to clutter your iPod with the stuff. iTunes allows you to sink podcasts or not sink podcast with your iPod independently of sinking your other mp3 files.

Yes, I subscribe to two CBC radio podcasts -- a science one and a music one. However, I've been remiss in my listening of late...

I found out that a married friend of mine does a BDSM sex podcast. [Eek!]

I...do not know what to say to him now.
