I've heard something about this too. Apparently Disney is gong back to its roots, but I have no evidence to support it. Still, it would be amazing. To me, the 2d animations far surpass the CGI animations.

Well, The Frog Princess, a 2D animated fairy tale musical has been greenlit for the year 2009.
The revamped version of American Dog and Glen Keane's long, long, long in development Rapunzel look like they might be the last CGI flicks from WDFA.

Before John Lasseter got involved, their bean-counters had already decided that 2D was dead and thrown out all the animator's desks, never to draw again. Then the Pixar guys came in and were like, uh, it's not the medium, it's the stories, people want to see great stories told in 2D. And fired a lot of the bean counters.
