Hey, I live in Australia and I just emailed WebBoulevard (in NC) about having a website done for me. But I'm kinda in a rush and am worried they might be too long in responding, which will need a correspondence email or two anyway. On the Contact page it says: Phone: (336) 282-8548. To call my friends in Washington State I just add 00111 (or something, it's in my mobile/cell phone anyway) to the start. would the "336" be the equivalent of that? Or would I call 00111 336 282 8548? Or something else?

Thanks for your help.

Add the country code, and then the 336 area code. So yes, the whole thing. [Smile]

Though I thought that it was 001, rather than 00111. But maybe it's different from Australia, I've only ever called from Israel.

I think the second option. To call from the U.S. to another country, we have to add something like 011 before the whole number used in that country (including area code). The "336" is the area code, so you need that along with the phone number. You need the country code, which is the 00111 or whatever, first. So, yeah, I think the second option is right.

The U.S. Government will monitor your conversation, looking for key phrases. Read about it in Newsweek... although I think it's probably old news.

Just in case you wanted to know...

I think I just might actually. I'm not of "suspicious origin" so I should be lower on their priority list and get away with it for a while - at least long enough to get my site started up. From then on I can just run the business from prison. Okay, now I'm getting ahead of myself again...

I'm going to ring them tomorrow when I'm not so tired. Or I could be a cheapskate and get my friend in Washington to do it for me. We shall see. Thanks for your help people.

To call the US from a foreign country, you have to type in 001+1+number so for your case it would be:

001-1-336-282-8548

If that doesn't work, take out the second 1.
