I recently dropped my Resume at WWW.Hotresumes.com In the last 24 hours I've recieved 3 tentative job offers, all from fabric manufacturers, all from different countries, each looking for someone to represent them. The names given sound phony (Matts Kelvin of Boulox Fabrics) so I have not responded to any of them. So far they only request I send them an e-mail if interested.
The question is are they, A) Spammers looking for active e-mail addresses? B) Virus Distributors that will include some nasty virus with the return e-mail? C) Phishers that will have me fill out an application that includes SS#, Credit Card #, and other personal info, or D) Respond saying they need a bank account number to send my first check to, being as they are all oversea's companies.

Ask for a telephone number to contact them at or a website to view. If it LOOKS legit, there has to be someone else you can contact to verify their realness or status as a phony. Check the country of origin and see if you contact somewhere there about their validity.
But a simple phone call could be all you need. And beyond that, see if they are willing to fly you out to the home office for an interview, or if there is a satelite office in the US. If they have any of that, I'd doubt that it's a scam, they wouldn't go through that expensive or elaborate a set up for a resume scam.

Didn't we have a thread about someone else getting these kind of offers recently? I'm thing maybe KQ's husband, but I'm not sure.
