Today is the 99th day since metropolitan Phoenix got any measurable rain. We're headed for a record. The current record is 101 days without rain.
If this keeps up, we're in for a nasty wildfire season.

And last year was so beautiful when Spring hit. The flowers were spectaclar because of all of the winter rain.

I hear you, although Tucson has gotten a sprinkle or two in that time period. My husband has a garden, but the birds destroy everything that he plants because it's the only green thing around.
We are so glad that we're moving to Iowa in May or June. Enough is enough.

I was hoping I'd bring some with me, since Oregon has been having consecutive days of rain. But apparently, the rain decided not to follow me.

We recently had a record stretch of sunless days. Did wonders for the neighborhood with the already too-dim solar powered street lights.

Derrell, when I was doing a semester at ASU, it was over one hundred days. Do you know when the last record was? I was there in(um...)1985. I think.
I remember how depressed I would get, living in Phoenix, with sunshine day after day after day.
It sounds weird, but is true. I need rain.

That doesn't sound weird at all. I grew up in southern California, where the weather hardly ever stays the same for more than a few days at a time (or at least it was that way back then). Now I live in Fresno, where we can have days and days of fog in the winter without seeing the sun(I've known it to go for weeks at a time but not in the past few years), and always have months of sun and heat without relief in the summer. Even after all these years, I'm not used to having the weather be so uniform for so long, and it drives me crazy.

I too, would give you some spare rain from Oregon, as here, this is the first short while where we have not had rain. We had a glimpse of the Sun yesterday, but not anymore.

Jon Boy, I would be equally depressed if it rained all the time. Or snowed. I really think it is growing up in New England that does it. The temperate climate is in my blood, I guess.
