I've been trying to figure out a running regime for the treadmill at the gym. I'm only doing it there to keep a constant incline for as long as I need. Can someone please tell me what formula I should use to go from:

How many minutes would it take to go 2km at 12km/h? 3km at 9km/h? 4km at 7km/h? 5km at 6km/h?

One formula should cover them all, right? I really didn't think this was beyond me, but I guess it is. [Frown] Can anyone help?

P.S. With a 5 kilometer run at 6km/h, what incline should I limit myself to?

(Distance / Rate) will give you hours. Multiply by 60 to get minutes.

So 2 / 12 = 0.1667 hours (about);

0.16667 * 60 = 10 minutes.

Just make sure the units work out.

3 km / (9km / hr) = 3 km * 1/9 hr/km

The km on top and bottom cancel out. You're left with 1/3 hour.

1/3 hour * 60 minutes/hour = 20 minutes.
