oh rats...I thought you had found my book. The last time I saw the writhing runes of its fearsome cover, that gangrenous tome was screaming voicelessly in terror as its nacreous beak snapped at the oleaginous tentacles of putrifying ichor dragging its flailing pox-ridden pages into the fathomless deep toward an inchoate mass of gibbering flesh while I stood helplessly on shore, barely noticing the gagging stench of violets and rotting fish emanating from sickly greenish-yellow luminescent carnivorous fungi covering the storm-beached kelp, paralyzed as I contemplated the gruesome horrors awaiting my precious Necronomicon's shattering soul and thought to myself, "Wow. That is so coo-ool... A bit kinky, but neato. I wonder if they'll let me play..."

Actually, that really was it. I have a love/hate of "the scent of lilacs and cold steel" (some phrase from a forum-related post) that goes pretty deep. Anne Rice knew exactly how to push my vomit button when she wrote of the smell of rotting, decayed flowers.

Ya know, I corrected the spelling over to 'oleaginous' up top, and somehow, my original "oleagenous tentacles" still feels more properly Lovecraftian.
Be sure and look at "Tales of the Plush Cthulhu." It ain't easy being plush, when the Ancient Ones show up!
