The film's official site is live as well, though right now it's just the poster image, a "sign here for updates", and a mysterious countdown to something almost a month from now.

Oh my gosh, I think I just laid an egg.

Is it just me, or does that look more like Primal than Prime?

That's supposed to be a Decepticon's eye, according to AICN.

Maybe a countdown to a teaser trailer? One can only hope.

I only worry about the voices, are they getting the voice actors from the original cartoons series?

I can't imagine Optimus, Blur, Grimlock, Megatron, Soundwave, or Starscream (cobra commander!) as being voiced by anyone else.

Duh, I thought I had read it was supposed to be Prime.

Lyrhawn, you're absolutely right. Except the part about Blur. He needed to die. Horribly. So any voice is fine, as long as it's silenced. [Big Grin]

The voices of the Transformers have yet to be disclosed. Human cast members can be viewed at the IMDB entry.

I can do without Blur. The micromachine guy had no place in Transformer lore anyway.

It gives the release date as "July 4th, 2007".

The countdown says (currently) 26 days.

So unless the world's time flow is disrupted... [Wink]

It's rumored that both Superman Returns and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest may have a Transformers movie "announcement" teaser attached.

Another movie I now am waiting for. This makes 3 now.
- EG
- Talledega Nights
- Transformers

I have the original cartoon movie on DVD and VHS. The VHS has yet to come out of the plastic.

I have the original cartoon movie on VHS, and the second movie on my computer along with bits and pieces of the first season. I'd love to buy the two seasons that are out of Transformers on DVD, but they are charging a ridiculous sum for them. Or at least they were last time I bothered to look.

Thanks for the info Puffy!

Yep, I bought all the season DVDs (ORIGINAL Transformers ONLY) a while ago. Glad I did then instead of waiting till I had almost no money.

Well, if Starscream is in it, he'll have to be voiced by someone else, since Chris Latta is dead.

I suspect none of the originals will be used, studio decisions being what they are. You would think they'd at least get Peter Cullen and Frank Welker if no one else.

I remember reading that they were going to at least test the original voice actors to see if they still sounded good.

That cover of the theme song at the end there sounded like Dido.

I really hope I'm wrong.

Edit: It doesn't matter who it is, she needs to stop making music.

I want the entire movie to be laced with the music used in the original cartoon movie.

Otherwise I'll consider it a failure musically.

It'd be sweet to see some modern cars transforming, though jarring since I'm used to 80's styled cars being the characters.

Also, I remember know about Starscream being dead. It's sad [Frown]

"Coronation Starscream? This is bad comedy."

"M...Megatron?"

"Here's a hint!"

That has to be my favorite set of lines from the movie (with the favorite of those being the bad comedy quip). Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron was an inspired choice. Too bad the TV Galvatron sounded like he had a permanent wedgie.

Lyr, as I am also used to the old 80's car styles being used as the characters, I'm finding it hard to picture one of today's cars being a transformer. They are so small these days. How 'bout trucks?

I was thinking about overall. I know the 80's crisis made a lot of cars small back then too, but we still have a lot of small cars today.

Some of todays that I would like

Not the little red one getting smushed

This just looks cool

I have no use for this one, but I guess even the transformers need to ride in style.

I don't care for Fords, but this I would like

This, I really want *drools*

ok fine. I retract earlier statements.
