This is a video clip from a new First person RPG. Looks really cool to me, and I think i'd buy it. Only gripe I might have is that it looks to be single player, although I could be wrong. And the source engine is certainly equipped for multiplayer games.

That looks really interesting. If the video accurately depicts ordinary gameplay, I love the cuttting the rope bridge while your frozen opponent is standing on it part. I hope that the gameworld is as dynamic as that shot would suggest.

It is. The source engine is also used for a few other games that I play and it is capable of that. Those were real game play shots.
I saw another video where there was a ledge at high altitudes with a 90 degree turn on it. The player shot ice on the ground at the corner so that when the monster followed him it slid on the ice and fell off the ledge

looks like a nifty idea, may be a lil annoying though, and graphics would not be considered the best, but it still looks neat.

As someone who still enjoys Unreal Tournament, having the latests and greatest graphics is far less important than gameplay to me.

tell me about it port. I am part of a Counter Strike clan who cant stop playing 1.6. That game was released in like 1997 or something like that and still has a huge following.
They released an updated version of it with incredible graphics and physics, but people just don't leave the old one

Two new trailers for this game were just released. It does however require that you have Steam downloaded to your computer. Thats the program that serves as a gateway for a number of different games.
The following videos highlight two different approaches to dealing with enemies in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

I definitely wouldn't call this an RPG, from what I've seen. Despite the fantasy setting, it seems very much to be an FPS-style adventure.
If you draw the line, as I do, between Deus Ex and Deus Ex 2 in determining what is an RPG and what is not, I think this falls on the Deus Ex 2 side
Though when you're dealing with genre boundaries this hazy, I guess the categories become sort of meaningless. I guess my point is, don't expect this to be Oblivion
Do expect it to be as cool as Oblivion, though, in a different way.

Yeah, I think its a FPS first and foremost, but in a RPG environment. Not sure if there will be anything akin to leveling or exp in it or not

I think you CAN advance your abilities, but in more of a "earn power-ups" sort of way, like Deus Ex 2. I think the character-development system will be simple enough that it may not fit into the realm of RPGs.

I'm just pleased to see a first-person game where using a bladed weapon involves something other than the same generic "slash" animation over and over again.
Still think the title is a little dumb, though.
And I should point out, for interest's sake, that the honor of first RPG using the Source engine goes to the flawed but intriguing Vampire: Bloodlines.
