It's not funny
Do I glue it back on or get someone professional to do it?

oh my gosh!

If it fits snugly against the fretboard, you can just set it back on and tighten strings against it to hold it in place. If this works fine, then I would have no problem adding a touch of elmer's glue next time you have the strings off, to keep it in place.

If not, then definitely find a local luthier to fix it.

You are SO in luck!

a dab of Elmer's glue

Just don't use super-strong epoxy or super-glues. That nut is meant to be removable!!!

I saw this title and immediately thought, "Well, what was he doing on there in the first place?"

Bob is right. In fact my very fine studio classical has a nut that isn't even glued on, and I have never had a problem. Once you get the strings on, the nut has basically no-where to go. If your concerned about losing it though, a dab of elmers is all thats needed.

Hmm...

Fixes everything list:
Duct tape
Electrical tape
Scotch tape
Elmer's Glue
Procrastination

The others stay, they work!

You can probably knock those last three items right off that list.

And maybe add procrastination.
