I was looking at my profile, and I noticed beneath it the comment:

Mine says nothing about permitting ratings. Why haven't I been rated? I feel left out.

I would guess it's because this forum software has a lot of features -- ranking, voting, personal messages, etc -- that aren't used at Hatrack, and you're seeing a bit of one of them.

Ratings are turned off for everyone here (as well as at most of the other UBB boards I read). Why that line shows up for some and not others I don't know.
