Hello all. Thank you Kwea for inviting me to Hatrack. Especially thank you for setting up my intro post. I see this post has been active before my arrival. Better late than never. I think this is going to be a great deal of fun. The Hatrackers I know and have recently met are quite the pranksters. Thank you Icarus and Kwea (not necessarily in that order) for pulling me on stage at Jellyrolls to sing Ray Charles -- WITH NO MICROPHONE! That is indeed Karoake hell. But I did beat the local guy with the fan club from St. Cloud.

Kevin, aka VelourMan, is one of the best people I have ever met, my best friend, and was in my wedding party. As a matter of fact if my father had not been my best man at the wedding, Kevin would have been.
I have been telling him about Hatrack for a few years now, and sending him links that I thought he would enjoy, and he finally agreed to register and post here.
He was my "computer guru" friend back when BB were all the rage.
He hung out with JenniK and me, Icarus and Cor when we were all in FL a few weeks past, and he hit it off with them right away. Joe and Lisa live fairly close to Kev, so they are all helping Jenni and me pick out some decent places to look at for our move, too.
Kev, I hope you enjoy Hatrack as much as I do, and I am sure you will fit in just fine.
Geek!
BTW, he starts off "Real", as he has met 4 real Jatraqueros IRL. Pretty cool, huh?

Yeah, but my staff calls me the coolest geek they know. Just cuz I think that Battlestar Galactica is the best show ever, and I can tear apart a computer and put it back together with my eyes closed, and write a run-on sentance and type 50 errors a minute without looking at the keyboard doesn't mean I am a geek.
Uh... crap.. I am in denial Ah ha! I haven't figured out how to put the kewl emoticons on a post. Still in denial. Did I just say "Kewl"?

I like to think that anybody who came down to Florida wouldn't only be coming down to see you.
(But then again, I got used to people coming over who were only interested in seeing Bob--or Chris) *sigh*

And I know it won't be to see me and Jenni...
Icky, I know Myr from up here, that's why I offered, although I am sure she would love to meet any and all Jatraqueros that live down this way, she si a good sport!

Kiwi, I'm going to try to get a trip together to florida sometime this (school) year... my friends and I actually might take a cruise during break which would mean having to be in FL anyway... and then I could hop on over and visit! (AAAAND meet all the cool hatrackers who already reside in the sunshine state )

That would work, depending on where the cruise sails from..
I will have the same AIM name, and will still post here of course, but I will send you our address once we find all of that out.

Actually, this is the absolute best place to live in the country when it comes to cruising. We're an hour from two ports, and less than four hours from three others. We've cruised out of four different ports in Florida ourselves, just taking whichever one offered the best deal.
(btw, if you've never cruised before and want tips, I can't recommend Carnival highly enough. Much better than Disney, and I think you realize what it takes for me to say that.)

It IS a Carnival cruise we'd be going on, one of those four-day three-night ones, Western Caribbean And if I have anything to do with it we'll be driving down. Now I just hope it works out!

I went on a four day three night one with my parents on Royal Caribbean once, and I think we're doing the same type thing this time too (my friends and I).

I've never heard of such a thing. Doesn't every cruise dock in the morning and make you get off right after breakfast?

It spans four days, but the first is not a full day... and the last might not be either. It's been a while, lol

VM posted yesterday. True to form it was to make fun of me.
He use to lurk fairly often, but told me he had not been here for a while. I sent him some stuff we had been talking bout...well, material that we had linked to...and the next time he came over I showed him some things.
He asked where I had got most of it....and I said "Hatrack, of course.".
He enjoyed the Colbert Report links, and the wild ukleele video.

I ended up going to California! My friend has a sibling out there who she wanted to visit.
I am still very much planning on a Disney/Florida trip, SOMETIME! I miss you guys I have to get me a job and then work there until I have vacation time now, though. Hopefully, that won't take long...

You are all done with college now, right? Come and work for Disney for a while. The hours suck, you can't get holidays off (ever), but at least the pay is the worst I have ever seen IRL.
It would be funny if half my homes income weren't based on it. Let us know when you plan it. I just got round trip airfare for my MIL for August. It was $137.40 total.

Wow, sounds like working for camp. I would love to work for Disney, though I gotta jump on the LAR firm bandwagaon because soon all the good jobs will be taken and next year's graduates will find themselves scrambling for second-rate firm positions. Eek! (Yes, done with college, I graduated in May with four solid years under my belt and NO LOANS, woah!)
You will definitely be the first to know whenever I figure out how I'll get my butt down to Disney It might take me a while, but it's on my list of Important Things To Do ASAP
