Me and Christina Ricci, we got this project together

With the click of a PayPal button, I have added a new and major title to my resume: Big Time Movie Producer. Well, small time movie producer, but it still counts.

For most moviegoers the position of producer is a fuzzy one. What does a producer produce, anyway? How many does it take to build an executive producer? What about the co-producer? Is that the littlest producer, or the one that always rides shotgun?

The quick answer used to be that a director makes a movie happen, but a producer makes a movie possible. The producer initiates the project, hires and coordinates the key staff, raises the cash, arranges for distributors, sucks up to studios, bails the more interesting stars out of jail, that sort of thing.

Now there's an even quicker answer: the producer is the person who sends in a dollar. Welcome to "The 1 Second Film."

Best of all, I am now one degree away from Kevin Bacon ($10).
ROTFL! [Big Grin]

Your ending line was great, too.

And just HOW does your wife, and the family pets I might add, feel about their cameo appearance as the entourage in this little expository effort of yours, I wonder . . . [No No] [Razz]

I have to admit, the Kevin Bacon line was not original to me. My buddy and first reader Shmuel mentioned it when I was telling him about this site last Friday, and then I found it on the site in their promotional banners.
The last line, however, was mine [Smile]

It's worth noting that at the moment, Shmuel is directly underneath Christina Ricci on the associate producers list. He is well pleased with this.

This morning I submitted my name to IMDb.com, we'll see how long that takes to go through. I'm psyched.

Teresa has taken it in stride, as she does with all my references to her.

Of the dogs, Willow has accepted her new duties and become very adept at dealing with script submissions and license contracts (her innovative method involves pee). Harpo has let it go to his head and now just sits around all day wearing sunglasses. I think he has a reality show deal working.

Chris, your kids aren't part of your entourage? So are they now at that don't-want-to-be-seen-with-their-parents-in-public stage?

No, they'll expect to become producers themselves. And more power to 'em, because then I'll have "connections."

Don't forget, if anyone donates because of Chris, be sure to let them know - he could get a free T-shirt.
