After four months of search, I have a full-time, out of college, real world job!

I get a good salary (not great, but more than I need to pay the bills) and benefits out the ears: TIAA-CREF, paid Christmas vacation, health, vision, dental, vacation days that roll over and free tuition if I want to take classes.

Pardon me while I celebrate.

That's awesome! And you know, here's some free advice from someone who had no sense at your age--I'm not sure what TIAA-CREF is (something financial, I'm sure), but if it is a retirement plan then TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT and start putting away now. I wasted most of my years of working for an organization with a fantastic matching plan. I did NOT need to spend everything I was spending, even though my salary was paltry at first. Get in the habit of saving now, even if it's just a tiny token amount and you are paying off loans!

Thanks Uprooted, that is what everyone is telling me. TIAA-CREF is a teacher/professor retirement/financial plan, and I get it because I'll be working for a university. Apparently for every dollar I put in, the university puts in two...so it certainly sounds like a great plan to me.

DANG, dude! Not a bad benefits package! Since I'm new at these forums, can you tell me what field you're working in? (that is, unless you prefer not to).

Congratulations!

It's just some office work for a local University. Mainly data entry, but also some front desk work and a lot of "can you help me out with this?" involved. I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for all the congrats!
