No, 'Fireflyer' is the same kinda "ain't I so cutting edge to think of this" dorkdumbosity that produced the spiked Supergirl and the Loonatics Unleashed. Sorry, early'80s "futuristic glitter-goth-punk" stylings ceased being cutting edge well before the mid'80s. And the folks who cheese out beloved properties with such nonsense are merely proving that they are old and senile, no matter what their physical age.

There are very few movies my limited attention span will allow me to enjoy over and over again. Hook is one of them.

I liked Hook when it came out. But when I've watched it recently, I've found it lacking. I can't say why-- Robin Williams' Pan is too sweet, I think.
The recent live action 'Peter Pan' is the best Peter Pan movie of them all.

I found Shawshank almost perfectly paced with the book. Though I think that is a rare exception.
