Okay I have daily status reports on my internet usage basically I know in mb's how much bandwidth is used in the span of one day.
So far im using 700 a day and I am not entirely sure what it is but there are some prime suspects, and so to help my narrow it down and to let Hatrack have some fun lets have a poll.
1- Streaming video 2- Listening to Eve-Radio 3- A virus(s) // running virus scan for the last 8 hours
4- Spyware (getting to it) 5- Misc. Downloads. 6- Teamspeak, and usualy generic day to day traffic when doing nothing. 7- MMORPG's (Eve-Online).
Note that I have no idea what the answer is right now and I am not doing any single one of these constantly or consistently so I am pretty sure there's a good possibility that any one of these or combinations of such could be the final culprit.
p.s.-you play Eve-online? Do you mind if I ask how do you manage? I just started playing a free trial version and there's so much information that it makes my head hurt.

My ingame name is Shi Lang, add me to your addess book and ill add you if you tell me whats yours.
Also I'll as with all things figure it out eventually as I slowly test each one and see if my dl is still so ridiculasly high.

Hard to say, if you spelled your name that way on all your tests, you should not have gotten through school at all.

You might consider toning all of those down. 700 mb a day is pretty darn high. I don't know Eve's specs, but most online games of that genre can eat up your bandwidth pretty bad. With streaming video, most of the consumption would depend on the quality of the video/audio.
What anti-virus/spyware programs do you run?
