I haven't seen one, so I thought I'd do the honors. I didn't get to see it, but 108-66?!?! Bulls [b]completely[b] obliterating the defending champions the Heat. How embarrassing. I was picking the Heat to go to the Finals in the East again, but now my confidence is shaken.

I'm pretty excited about the team Orlando has put together. Obviously not championship quality, but hopefully good enough to get out of the first round of the playoffs. And so much room to grow.

Anyone else have predictions, opinions, comments, etc?

Pistons going to the Eastern Conference Finals again, we'll lose whoever we play there.

I saw it. >_<

A much more exciting game on now . . .

I wouldn't write the Heat off after one loss, though. I mean, did you watch last season? [Wink]

We didn't give him up. He chose not to stay, despite offering him a giant wad of cash.

I blame Flip for that.

On the bright side, our bench is a lot deeper now than it was, and considering it wasn't deep at all before, that isn't saying much. Wait, that works against me. Bleh, losing Ben hurt, Nazy Mohammad is going to help fill the hole a bit, but that wasn't really the big problem with the team.

I think the majority of the reason we fell apart in the post season las year was exhaustion. Our five starters were playing way too much, because our bench couldn't back them up. We needed a bench, so our awesome starters could take a break and be rested for the post-season, so we could actually win.

We still have Prince, Hamilton, Billups and Sheed. They're the ones that put the ball in the hoop. Nazr is there mostly for defense, which I think he can do. Losing Ben isn't a death knell, if anything, I think we could come out of this stronger if the bench steps up the way we're all hoping they do.

[Grumble] I don't get TNT. It may be time to upgrade my cable package with the money I don't have.

Like I said though, I had the Heat pegged as possible repeats. 42 points though? That's ... that's really bad.

I believe last year they had a losing record against all or most of the playoff teams, and were barely above .500 on the road. FWIW. [Smile]

Bynum is impressing me. And he seems charismatic as well, like a young Magic, if Magic had not had a beard when he was starting out.

What's with the Magic beating the Bulls by 18 at the half? Dwight Howard has 20 points 7 boards? Lets see if they can pull this one out [Big Grin] .

I'm not sure why I dislike the Magic so much. I mean, sure, they're the local team, and I'm a fan of an out-of-market team, but still, it's not like there's a real rivalry there. And yet I pretty much will change the station when the local sports radio shows start talking about the Magic. It's like they actively annoy me, for some irrational reason.

Maybe because they're named after my favorite basketball player, and that seems presumptious. Or maybe because "Magic" is a lame nickname for a team in the first place (but then, honestly, "Heat" is at least as bad).

Oh, I understand you. For a long time the Heat were that way for me [Smile] . The Lakers still are. Everything from their colors to their name to their success repulses every fiber of my being. The Magic were just the team I grew up watching and following, so they have first priority in my rankings. Honestly, I think they have one of the lamest names in the league (with the exception of the Lakers and Knicks).

By the way, they did pull it off [Big Grin] . 109-94. Dwight Howard 27 points, 11 rebounds. Grant Hill (yes, he played) 19 points. I have to say, I'm proud. Even though I am well aware that this is an extremely corny thing to say, and fully expect some eye-rolls, maybe it's time to start believing in Magic again.

ok, that sounded so bad I'll roll my eyes at myself.
