-do something!

Today is the first major snowfall we've had this year. We're expecting about 6-10 inches in the next few hours with even more expected by the lake (lake michigan) where I live.

I don't really like winter that much, but I'm a believer in cold + snow = tolerable. Cold by itself is just annoying. Let there be a reason for the cold, please.

It's really coming down, though. Wisconsin, especially Milwaukee, has some of the best snow-removal in the country, but the plows can't keep up right now.

I rarely hear thunder with snowfall either.

Snow day here in Chicago! Got woken up at 6:15 by the school automatic call systems. I'm watching the news and traffic reports and the travel times are just disgusting... I'm glad I'm not moving anywhere.

And yeah, the thunder was a bit freaky...

We got six inches here in southern Kansas. Although just 30 minutes further north they got nothing (the moisture push came from the south).

I would so totally box some up and ship it to you if I thought there was ANY chance of it arriving as anything but a puddle.

There's snow today and yesterday! In Texas! I've probably seen snow around 10 times in my life, so all snow is exciting and wonderful. [Big Grin]

I positively love my new purple snow boots! I walked through a lot of snow and slush and my feet are warm and dry! My new scarf also performed very well - though it does smell like wet wool (because it is).

No snow here (though might get a little later today), just really cold and incredibly windy.

We had snow a while ago here in Moscow. But there hasn't been any in the last couple weeks. And it's not cold enough so that's okay. Maybe we'll get some overnight.

I have been wearing my nice new snow jacket every once in a while.

You're all probably getting our (Colorado's) storm from Tuesday/Wednesday. It came down hard all night and all morning. It's still freezing here. It hasn't been above 18 degrees all week until today. Enjoy it! I sure did!

I would wish for snow here in SC, but the last time we had any, it was really an ice storm that left me without power for 5 days. Then Duke Power refused to pay for all the spoiled food in my refridgerator, despite the fact that if they kept the power lines clear like they are supposed to, the power outages probably wouldn't have been so widespread.

No snow here (Albany area). In fact, we've had no substantial snow all year. It's surprising, because this is supposed to be snow country.

Current temperature in Miami, Florida: 78F. Feels like 80F.

"Winter"?!? BWAHAHAHA!!!

I'll never understand weather forecasts. Right now it's "partly cloudy", but later tonight it'll be "mostly clear", and tomorrow will be "mostly sunny". Isn't that all the same thing?

It's cold here in Central California...not like it gets cold other places, but for here it's cold. Had a freeze warning the past couple of nights (poor citrus growers, up all night) and the roofs were white when I got up this morning.

Stray and Megan,

My mom just called, no electricity at Arlington, North,or the Marsh between the two. And the news guy said we could have as much as a foot, though not likely.

Florida is mostly sunny at night? [Eek!] When did it float to the south pole?

All you eastern folks... just wait. It's coming. It was in the 60s here in Chicago earlier this week. Dropped 20 degrees overnight from Wednesday to thursday, and we woke up to the snow this morning. Which means you'll probably get the snow in a few days.

I really, really hope I have power when I get home. I really hope it doesn't snow much between now and then (I'm in Indy today).

It's cold here! Gah!

Fortunately, this morning was the Christmas tree hunt, and we have perfect weather for buying a Christmas tree. I'd much have preferred to buy one at night, but with my boyfriend's work schedule, that wasn't possible. So now there's a seven-foot tree in my living room/office area. It's like a nicely scented room divider!

Snow here? About 4 inches.

That is sitting on about 3 inches of pure ice

Which came after a long night of hard rain.

The result. Got out of work at 3pm yesterday. Got home at 7pm, on what normally takes me just over 1 hour.

Spent 1/2 hour stuck behind a trio of snow-plows going 15mph on the way into work this morning, but I did take 1/2 the day off.

Snow--fun.

Ice--not so much.

Our snow is coming later tonight. We've had driving rain and wind, and cooling temperatures for the last 48 hours. The west side of the state (Michigan) has been slammed all day by the storm leftovers + Lake Effect snow.

Bad day to be in Grand Rapids, but it's dreary and crappy over here. I'd prefer snow to this.

Just make sure you keep it well-hydrated or it will become a nicely scented firebomb.

I picked up my sweetie from the Indy airport this afternoon. I was wrestling the wind gusts all the way up and back, and on the way back the bed liner blew out of the pickup truck that was two cars in front of me [Eek!] It got a good 20 feet in the air before coming down on the side of the road; damn lucky it didn't cause an accident.

Still no snow though, and doesn't look like there'll be any from what I can tell.

Hey...were you, by any chance, on 67 at the time? Cause I was next to a pickup truck whose bed liner blew out and (very fortunately) didn't cause an accident.

Well it snowed around 14-16 inches here in mid-Missouri. I was at a Youth in Government state convention in Jefferson City and we weren't allowred to leave the hotel Thursday night or all day Friday. It's cold!

Bah. It's 20 degrees outside, though it feels like 10 with the wind chill, but there's still no snow!

What good is it being cold if there's no snow to look at? I finally got around to putting the liner in my windbreaker, so I'm all toasty when I go outside, but it's hard to get into the holiday spirit without a good snowfall underfoot to start the season.

I don't mind the cold at all, sure it's a little annoying on the drive to work before my car heats up, but...I want snow dammit! Snow!! It's my trade-off for embracing the cold weather, and I'm keeping up my end of the bargain.

Yay! The powers that be must've heard me yesterday, we're getting snowed on as we speak!

Finally! Only a couple inches though, pfft, better than nothing.
