So...basically it'll be the Smurf equivalent of John Byrne's X-Men: The Hidden Years.

For a guy who claims he's been watching every episode of the cartoon, it's odd that he'd think the "Gargamel wants to make Smurf Soup" bit needs to be explained.

Every other episode had a reference about how that's the way a wizard in the "Smurfverse" creates gold. [Razz]

I want to see this!

Not as much as I would love(and I mean this) to see a Teddy Ruxpin revival.

That's the worst idea I've heard all day.

Some things should be allowed to remain dead. The Smurfs is one of those things.

You know, I've never, and I really do mean never, ever seen a Smurfs episode or portion thereof. Ever.

I think I'm quite happy with that decision. [Smile]

I could see the confusion over the Gargamel business. Apparently if you go through the episodes, in some he wants to eat the Smurfs but in others he wants to turn them into gold. At some point you just have to say "hey, what is it, man? Food or gold?" [Razz]

Wasn't it Teddy Rumpkins? And we just saw an ad for a new toy that is the same thing but with chips or something instead of tapes and a different name.

Assuming I'm thinking of what you're thinking of.

No, it was Teddy Ruxpin.

Teddy "Rumpkins" sounds strangely...wrong in a very creepy way.

In earlier seasons it was to turn them into gold. In later seasons he got...hungry. [Angst]

The first time I felt old was the first time I heard a child say, "What's a Smurf?"

The grey hairs just started popping out all over.
