My younger brother has been obsessed with The Police/Sting for the past several months. For weeks he was blasting "Desert Rose." He then became interested in the music of the guy who does the back up in that song--Algerian singer Cheb Mami. And for weeks my younger brother has been blasting his song "Ana Oulache" which you can hear here (just select it from the list on the upper right corner) Now I'm obsessed with it too!

Fer Suuuure- The Medic Droid(he doesn't exactly have an album out, but you can find that song on his myspace) My Milkshake- the Goodnight Nurse version, simply because it's hardcore and hilarious at the same time. DOTA- Basshunter, because come on. Swedish Techno about American video games that have cult followings? funny stuff right there. Boten Anna- Basshunter. Again, swedish techno, but this time, it's about chat bots. Oh yeah. Bitter.For.Sweet.- Blaqk Audio. Blaqk Audio is made up of the singer(Davey) and lead guitarist(Jade) of AFI. Jade programs the music on his computer, and Davey does vocals. It's the best techno I've ever heard, and that's saying something.

For some time now I have been obsessing about a song I haven't even heard yet... "Straight Lines" - the newest single by silverchair, from their upcoming album Young Modern. I ordered a copy of the single at the recordstore, but apparently I'll have to wait just a tad longer.

I've recently been on a Disney, particularly Disney-in-foreign-languages, kick. There's probably some sort of "psychological regression to avoid being responsible" thing going on in my head.
Anyways, the movie Anastasia has a song, "Once Upon A December", which is absolutely gorgeous in its French version. I've also recently rediscovered the German musical version of Hunchback of Notre Dame, which is the best musical I've ever heard. Luckily, I'm fairly fluent in German, so I can appreciate both the music and the lyrics.
Damien Rice's song, "9 Crimes" has a ridiculous play count on my itunes.

I don't think I currently have a song obsession, and mostly get full album obsessions anyway, but the closest thing would probably be Sleeping Lessons by The Shins.
Jeni, I was on a huge New Order/Joy Division kick this past Summer/Fall. It was fun.

I get sick of most songs quickly and can‘t listen to them anymore, so I get obsessed with songs I can listen to over and over and never get tired with.
At the moment, these are:
i love the rain the most - joe purdy going through the motions - aimee mann engine driver- the decemberists cheap tricks - thea gilmore
I don’t like most of Bob Dylan’s later stuff, but for some reason I could listen to ‘Not Dark Yet’, on a loop forever.

I try not to get too obsessed with any one song, as I will get bored by it easily. Then again, during the harshest months of this winter, I listened to Avalanche by Matthew Good almost every day as I drove, and I still love that song.
Lately I've been listening to the album Silent Shout, by The Knife. I didn't like it at all the first time I heard it, but it has grown on me and now I'm really enjoying repeated listens.

Donnie Darko is amazing. There is another Tears for Fears song in that movie. "Head over Heals" I think. The film is very dark and weirdly moving, though.
