I know they are mostly sold out... my boss was asking cause he wants to give one as a gift, and I had no idea. I suggested maybe a voucher?

Bad news for your boss, I saw folks camped out at Target just this past Friday night. Stores seem to get them all the time and hoard them until the weekend.

Wii few, Wii happy few

The sun rose reluctantly, carefully stretching its wan rays of light through the misty morning fog air to rest on the huddled forms on the sidewalk. One of them stirred, a tousled head emerging with a yawn. "Is it time yet? Are they here?"

Next to him his comrades slowly struggled to their feet, swaying slightly. They were bundled in coats, knit hats, and blankets against the chill but their steely eyes blazed with resolute purpose. There was a palpable feel of intense anticipation; these people had a mission and they were determined to see it through, no matter the cost. For hours they had waited in hardship, with hours more to come, and still there was no sign of wavering or weakness. I was one of them, holding silent vigil in the December morning, and my goal was as clear as the paper sign taped to the wall: "Nintendo Wii Line Starts Here."

Stores around here are getting more Sunday (though maybe Saturday). You just have to go and check every morning. I walked into Walmart around 10 or 10:30 on monday morning and they had three. You can still get them on ebay for between 350 and 400. If you find a seller near you you can probably arrange to pick it up or have it dropped off. My mom had bought one on ebay for my brother, but when I found them in Walmart I picked one up so we could cut our losses. We sold the first one on ebay last night to someone local and my mom dropped it off this morning.

Oh, for specific stores, look for Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Game Spot, KMart, and other stores that have a lot of electronics and/or toys.

I saw a guy on the 15 freeway north yesterday whose rear window said he had one, then had his phone number.

If he's still driving, he's probably in Canada by now . . .

SEARS. Do NOT miss out on Sears. Everyone always overlooks it (admittedly, I'd forgotten it had an electronics section too), so you might get lucky.

I headed there the day of launch at 8 AM or so, waited a few hours, and was third in line. [Big Grin] Froze my toes and fingers off, though. But the people in line were friendly.

Anyway, check Sears.

*Loud Applause* Brilliant work Chris, you captured the essence of those lines REALLY well!

My mom just the other day was getting Wii peripherals for my sister and when she got back out of Toys R Us she said, "All they've got is a nunchuck" and I screamed, "BWARGHAHAH GET IT!!!" She ran back inside and grabbed it and not two seconds later somebody else asked the store manager about getting one and he said, "Sorry that woman over there got the last one."

My mom swears that guy gave he the meanest look she had ever been given in years.

I'm just glad I have mine, I don't need kids when my own internal kid is screaming at me that I needs it and I wants it.
