MUJI is opening in New York

MUJI is a "no-brand" brand which is committed to minimalist utilitarian (≠ugly) design and sustainable business practices.

Their website in English

The store will open some time during the 2007 holiday season in the NYT building.

(Also, Renzo Piano is teh man)

I started this thread wondering if there are US companies with a similar no-brand eco-friendly utility approach. Does the green movement have any foothold in retail?
