I just read the first issue of Dynamo Five by Jay Faerber and Mahamud A. Asrar.

It was very fun...and made me realize how much my inner fanboy misses the old school, involving super-hero team books of yesteryear.

The ones I read as a kid (mostly the Big Two teams like Legion, Avengers, X-Men, JLA) currently do not interest me.

The big two team comics I do enjoy come out sporadically.

Surely there's a good super-team book that I've missed. C'mon, fellow comics fans. Hook me up.

*Note: I'm not opposed to some darkness and cyncism in my "old school" team books. I started reading during the Bronze Age/Iron Age era, after all. [Wink]

It's not active now, but I thought Clan Destine was awesome, as long as one ignores the crossover with the X-Men (which was actually a great story, but executed quite poorly).

Most of the books I would have suggested are knocked out by your lack of interest comment. I mean if you don't like JLA now, I doubt you'll like JSA right now either. Most of the team books I read are ones you listed (the various X-Men books, both Avengers now, JLA, Legion). The others are either starting on a new path I'm not sure how good it'll be (like Fantastic Four) or I'm just not impressed with but I keep having hopes (Gen13). So yeah, I'm not much help.

I recall liking ClanDestine back in the day. That was an Alan Davis project, right?

I read Justice Society of America, Teen Titans, Astonishing X-Men, and Marvel Adventures: The Avengers from time to time...and intend to check out The Animated Legionnaires comic starting later this spring.

I love Young Avengers, Runaways, and..uh...that's it, for the "Big Two" team books. [Smile]

Sounds like you have most of the good ones from the Big Two. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the smaller comic companies (Dark Horse, Image, and the like).

I enjoy Noble Causes over at Image...and sometimes Invincible reads like a team book, depending on the arc.
