Everyone who wants to be a writer should apply and attend if possible. There hasn't been a better investment I've ever made in terms of my writing career than attending Literary Boot Camp.
Writers of the Future is about the only thing that compares-- and that was free.

If you don't have the funds for the bootcamp, definitely try to swing the 2 day class that is open for anyone. I can't even tell you how much I learned about writing and effective storytelling in those two days. The bootcamp was wonderful, but don't underestimate the two day open workshop.

Oh man, I've wanted to do this for a while. I think I'll apply. Have to get a story written before the deadline.

I would love to do that, but since I live on the East Coast the bulk of the cost is the flight and the hotel. The two-day class would still set me back almost $1300; the whole thing, about $1900.

He alternates between Utah and somewhere on the East Coast-- last year was at Southern Virginia University, I believe. That's about a six hour drive from DC.

Unfortunatley, it's looking like the prospects of my getting to do this are still about two years off, at best. Nothing to do with the location--I've got family fairly near both places.
I'm determined it will happen, though, as long as he's still doing them.

I'm going to the Writer's Workshop and am oh so excited! I've had a hard time getting past the annoyances of regualar life to get effectively involved in writing, so I'm really hoping this with be the kick in the pants I need to get back to the fictional grindstone.
