I love classical music, but rarely have the patience to listen to it in daily life, so save it for the concert halls. I also like rap, both live and on the go, but find it less spiritually meaningful and so forth.

Naturally, any medium which combines the two gets my approval, and indeed, Clubbed to Death, which does so, is one of my favorites. There are relatively few other such works, though.

So I was wondering, wouldn't it be great if I could do that myself? How does one go about it anyways?

This is a pretty complicated topic. How much do you know about mixing music, generally? How much experience do you have using studio sound equipment and software?

Techie way: Download/buy the software, read the owner's manual and you'll be set.

DIY way (better way [Big Grin] ): Set up two sterios, both w/ record players if possible. Heck, if you know anyone that has a set of turntables, that would be easiest. Plug the outputs into a recorder (4-track, mixing board, tape deck, computer, etc). Play around with the records playing at the same time (or CDs if that's all you've got) until you think it sounds cool and know when to start and stop each one to get the sound you want. Record away. Then throw in some scratching and you're all set! Wiggedy-wiggedy-wack!

Buy 'Late Orchestration' from Kanye West. It has a bunch of live sets with an orchestra playing some of West's best songs behind his vocals.

I will never buy anything from Kanye West.

Funny about how he doesn't care what color you are when you buy his crap, isn't it?

Not quite sure what you're referring to. Are you saying he's racist?

Have you even listened to him before?
