I am intrigued. It looks like a very interesting film. I'll have to wait for the DVD tho' - going to the cinema to see films dubbed into Spanish is not my bag...

That really does look good. It looks like they are making a movie about the moral complexity. But just watching the trailer was very disturbing to me. Because I don't watch tv and I rarely go to movies, I'm totally unused to seeing on-screen violence. I wonder if it would have a bad effect on me.
Hard to decide. In some ways I think I really need to see this because I was abused, and because of the effect that had on my personality and on my willingness to violently defend myself and others. It might be something I need to think about again every so often, and maybe this movie would be a good context in which to do that. I don't know. It definitely looks good.

My dad and I went to the movies to see Good Luck Chuck, which I didn't really want to see, I wanted to see Eastern Promises. But somehow, and I blame my internal subconcious desire for self-preservation, my eyes read the time for the movie wrong and we ended up seeing The Brave One instead. I liked it. Frankly I can't even remember seeing Jodi Foster in a movie before, and if you check her list of movies on IMDB, she really hasn't been in all that much in the last 10 years.
I might have been a little hard on Foster in the review, she was really pretty darned good in the movie. I really believed the fragility/hardness line that she walks with acting out the role, which couldn't have been easy to do.
The review touches on the overall generalities of the plot, but there are no real spoilers until the very end, and it's clearly marked.
