I'm trying to upload some tests into SPSS format. I was told that the point and click method of using the GUI is far too inefficient, and that I should learn Syntax. OK.

So I've spent a few hours digging around.

But I still haven't figured out how to do what I want to do. Right now, all I want to do is create the base for the test. I have a lot of questions and I want to put them in the right format -- nothing more.

Anyone have any ideas how to do this/link to a good resource?

Cheers.

My roommate is an SPSS master. She's out of town until tomorrow, but I'll ask her when she gets home.

I have a lot of experience with SPSS, but I'm not sure what you mean by "create the base for the test"

What module(s) are you using?

Anyway, I'm guessing you're using some piece of the software that I haven't played with before. But, if you want to e-mail me some questions, I can be reached at:

I mostly use crosstabs, trends and regression models.

I'm guessing you're doing something else.
