While on our recent trip to Houston, my wife finally read Ender's Game. She really liked the book. I don't think she is a fanatic yet, but she is looking forward to the movie (aren't we all).
I almost fell over when she went to put the book down and dog eared the corner of the page. Argh! Oh well, usually when I lend out copies of Ender's Game, I never get them back.

glad to hear she liked it. just curious, how many copies have u bought so far? i have only ever bough Ender's Game twice.

I consider it a service to humanity to buy used copies of Ender's Game and release them into the wild. You can track them using BookCrossing.

Probably about 12 copies. For awhile I would lend the book and the person would end up joining the military. I don't know if the book had anything to do with it.
I actually did receive a couple of copies back lately. Now I have three.

I have read the Alvin books, and I thought the Seventh Son and Red Prophet were some of the best books ever even if the subsequent novels didn't really approach their level anymore. I also have a copy of Lost Boys hanging on my shelf which I'm yet to read but I am planning to read. (I bought it at an used books store because of this creepy elderly lady who insisted that I shouldn't leave the store without buying it. She was truly creepy so I did as she said.)

Don't read Lost Boys a) alone at night in a house with big windows and no curtains or b) right after moving into a new house. I read it while I was house-sitting and I ended up driving over to my parents' house to sleep. It's really good, though...and really creepy. OSC's horror is, in fact, horrifying.
