Is this the 659 page courier font (very plain-looking) pdf that's been floating around? Are the final two words in your pdf "to death"?

The last several HP books have had multiple fanfic versions floating around masquerading as the real version.

It's a fake. There are a few of these floating around. Different versions, fanfic no doubt, but basically it's 1-3 pages copied over and over.

Yeah, it's a fake. If I remember right, Rowling said that the last word in the book is "scar". From what I hear that is not the last word in this fanfic.

It would have been more convincing if you said you'd gotten hold of the audiobook (voiced by Stephen Fry) which will be released at the same time as the book.

I think the only thing worse than waiting would be finishing the book before everyone else and not being able to say anything about it for weeks for fear of getting sued by Scholastic and Bloomsbury.
I'm glad to know that Hatrack is still safe (I'm trying to go spoiler free, it will be hard).
The way the book is being published and distributed makes it nearly impossible to get a look at the book, until the middle of the last week when the boxes arrive at the bookstore. Then you probably will be able to get real spoilers online.
I worked at a library during book 5's release and the books arrived on Wednesday. The librarians took them out of their book and put the library's stickers on them. Then they just sat there until Saturday (Monday really, because the library is closed on weekends in the summer). Since the employees can order books at wholesale through the library, one librarian simply took hers home Friday evening, went to the Potter parties, and opened it after midnight.
You don't have to be that honest, just have to not have a fear of lawyers and make sure scholastic doesn't find out so you are not blacklisted out of the book selling industry.
For book six, I did receive a file that was the first chapter within a day or two of the release from some school friends. Real because it was photographs of the British edition with someone's hands holding the book open.
The bottom line is that nothing in the next few days would be the real thing. In two weeks, watch out.
(edit: Well that's good was refering to the fact that it's fake)

Well, in other news I just recieved the special 50th anniversary edition of The Lord of the Rings that I've been lusting after for years and the hardcover version of the new Tolkien book about Turin.

Wait the audio book is gonna be voiced by Stephen Fry?? What happened to Jim Dale?! Jim Dale was awesome!
Edit:
Phew, according to wikipedia, Jim Dale is still gonna voice the American audio books, apparently Stephen Fry is just the UK audio book narrator. That gave me a scare

Stephen Fry has been always been the reader of the UK versions of the HP audio books.
I listened to the his version of The Chamber of Secrets. I thought that his female voices weren't nearly as good as Dale's, but he absolutely nailed Lockheart.

Deathly Hallows seems to have actually leaked, now. I am reading it and I feel no (or at least very little) guilt, since I've already paid for my pre-order.

Wait. Can someone source this? Is this accurate? Because the last word in this thing is not "scar."

She has now said scar is near the end but not the last word. I can link you a video that says that. So is Scar in the last paragraph or so?

The latest info from Rowling in that interview is that the last word in the book is not "scar", but that it appears very near the end.

The word "scar" begins the second-to-last sentence. The leak is 759 pages. It consists of photographs of someone holding open every page so the book can be read. Looks real. Could be a hoax, but this would be a heck of a hoax.

I have two reasons why I want to see it. 1) i'd be curious to see a really good hoax
2) if it is real, I have a lot more free time between now and friday than i do from saturday until August.

Ooh. This is so hard to resist. I want to hold it in my hands while I read (and I'm still not done re-reading book 6) but I'd also like to read it now and limit the chances of being spoiled.
I'm going to have to unplug my internet soon.

Out of curiosity, what is the last word, then?

Too much could be accurately imagined from knowing the real last word. If this is real (and I guarantee no guarantees) I'm not going to be one of the people who spoils it.

I'm sorry. I wish I could help. They seem to still be working, as far as I can see. But I wouldn't be surprised if they come down soon.
