I've recently become enthralled with Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and figured in the spirit of Halloween I'd try and watch as many Dracula / Nosferatu type movies that I can get my hands on. There are many out there, and I don't want to watch the plain awful ones.
So far I've watched Nosferatu (1922), Dracula (1931), and Bram Stroker's Dracula (1992). I have on my Netflix queue Vampyr (1932), the 1979 Dracula, Warhol's 1974 Blood for Dracula, and Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995). And I got a version of Wernor Herzog's Nosferatu The Vampyre (1979).
And I missing any? Should I take one out of my list?
(I'll be honest. I'm watching all of these so that I can put off watching more Buffy this month. I've burned through so many (4 seasons in almost two months) that I want to slow down and extend the happiness that I get from that show, at least until the end of the semester.)

I don't know if either of the filmed versions are good, but definitely read 'Salem's Lot. Barlow is essentially a modern-day Dracula.

Shadow of the Vampire has been added to the top of my queue.
And Mucus, I'm afraid I'll have to wait to see the end of Angel at least until I finish Buffy. I'm sure it will come.
And I'm also fairly certain I am going to start a Buffy thread similar to my Babylon 5 thread of last year.

I think Nosferatu is the scariest vampire movie ever made. Both versions of Salem's Lot are pretty good and I do recommened the book. The movie Lost Boys is still a fun watch. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is actually at least the third series based on vampires; one in the 60s, another in the 80s, and another short lived in the 90s. Don't forget Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned.
