My father visited this weekend, took me out to lunch at a very, very slow restaurant. With plenty of time to wait before our food arrived (and how!), I took to examining the dessert menu. The following item caught me eye:

Jelly Doughnut Cheesecake! You'll find this Jelly Doughnut is unlike any other doughnut you've ever had! And if you need help washing it down, we include a mug of Liquid Lemon Doughnut to drizzle all over it!

Pictured was a slice of cheesecake that seemed to have a layer of raspberry jelly. By it was a mug filled to the brim with a mysterious viscous yellow matter.

The...uh....liquid lemon doughnut, I assume?

1) Liquid doughnut?

2) How does one fry up a liquid doughnut?

3) That would be a great name for a band! (Gratuitous Dave Barry reference)

I would assume it was just lemon donut filling, slightly thinned down.

Probably. Still, the name on the menu is so delightfully...loopy. [Smile]

Eh, I would eat it (minus the raspberry cheesecake, 1) raspberries are icky and 2) jelly does not belong on cheesecake.) I love lemon jelly donuts. [Big Grin]

I've had Key Lime cheesecake, and Lemon Ladyfinger Cheesecake. They were good.

Yes, those both sound good.

My sister made an orange-chocolate cheesecake once that was to DIE for.

Dave Barry refrences are never gratuitous.

What I look forward to is continued immaturity followed by death.

No, those sound utterly disgusting. Sorry.

I've had lemon curd before. It's quite good. I could see where LLD is more appealing sounding. I've deliberately never learned to make lemon curd because I fear for my health.

I've made lemon curd. It can separate and scald very quickly if you're not careful. And it's almost as cheap to just buy it.

So now I just buy it.

I'm so glad to hear someone else make this reference. I do this all the time. I'm glad I'm not alone (My favorite band name so far is "Sweet Baby Gherkins").
