My amazing wife, who knows how much I love Firefly/Serenity, TiVo'd for me Nathan Fillion's appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show last week. Here is the youtube clip of his appearance.

Hang in there until about 2:15 on the clock, and Nathan Fillion does this great bit on the "3 faces of the soap take." He is very funny.

That links just to the sequence. It's very funny.

A friend of mine told me the other day that Nathan, Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk are all going to voice characters in Halo 3, and the characters will be based on their Firefly characters.

Yes it did! All three of them are in there, though I don't think I've run across Nathan or Alan's lines yet.

I have, however, driven a Warthog with Jayne handling the machine gun duties. Gives me a smile every time:

"Gimme somethin' to shoot. I'm in a real bad mood." Also: "Gimme somethin' to decimate."

"Don't drive stick, do ya?" - when I rolled the Warthog

"Don't mind me, I'm just mowin' the lawn!" - with guns blazing.

Holy crap, that is the most awesome thing I've ever heard. I think I have to start saving for an Xbox 360 now.

I had seen a standup comic do the three faces of soap acting about five years ago.

I am glad Nathan said a friend taught it to him, because it definitely wasn't originial material. And I like him. But I'd definitely seen it before.

Halo 3: That almost sounded cool enough to make me want to play a video game.

The 3 faces of soap was funny, but that cat story at the end was classic.

The "soap faces" wasn't all that funny but that story of the cat had me gasping for air with little tears welled up in my eyes. Just the way he told it was hysterical.

Nathan Fillion is a funny guy. Sort of like (or perhaps exactly like) Malcolm Reynolds, but without having become jaded by the war against the Alliance and the Battle of Serenity.

Nathan Fillon and Ellen Degeneres in a movie together would be so awesome, it would defy all the known laws of science.
