He says it's about 85% complete. I noticed that BSG isn't listed yet, so I guess he doesn't know about it yet.

I didn't even hear that there was going to be a strike. I guess that's what I get for living in Australia. Can anyone send a link about the strike?

BSG has 10 episodes written out of the planned 20. It's unknown whether they will air the 10 or not, and wait for the other 10 to be written. Despite the fact that BSG is filmed in Canada (right down the street from Stargate (where I got the news from)), they still use American WGA writers.
Most of my shows will be done around December if things continue at present. Stargate Atlantis already has their entire season written and filmed, they're just in various stages of post production now. Also, only one of their writers is a WGA member, and he's in LA protesting while everyone else begins work on the next season.
I've seen much bigger more encompassing lists than that link has elsewhere. Wikipedia at least has a pretty good one.
The consensus I've seen from guesses online seems to be that LOST won't even air this year, and the showrunners are crossing their fingers that it will even air in the Fall of 08.

I've seen HIMYM snippets and it appears to be in largely the same boat, with 13 or so episodes produced, so I think it'll go comatose with the others in December.
Edit: I just looked, 11 episodes have been completed. The last episode of the season will air on December 10th.
Also, the word is that another slap from the slap bet will happen before then. And since next week's episode is called "Slapsgiving," I'd say that's a really good bet.
Neil Patrick Harris was on Wheel of Fortune last night as the celebrity guest star, and helped a girl win like $60K in cash and prizes. The man is a Wheel savant.

Oh no, it looks like this week will be the last Office. At least Back to You has three more shows to go.
On the plus side, we'll still be getting the entire abbreviated second season of Jericho, which the producers have said will contain all the major story points of a full second season (which might be better, since hopefully every episode will tell us more about the terrorists and their plans) and reach a natural conclusion.

Other than that, I don't really have much vested in television at the moment, other than Heroes - which I'm already four weeks behind on, and watch online anyway.
Well, that and the West Wing boxed set, but that's not really affected either.
I do support the strike, though... it just doesn't really cause me any frustration or discomfort.

When the season crashes, I'm going to watch Journeyman with Havah. And Life. We haven't been watching those (well, I have), because she doesn't like to watch too much TV. But once things like House and Numb3rs and Chuck are over <sniff>, we'll at least have some other things to watch.

House will be over from this strike! Oh no! Make them stop that! House is one of my favourite shows, one of the few reasons to watch television
Seriously. I need to stop watching so much television and get rid of my cable, but there's Ninja Warrior to consider or Shirtless Japanese Men.

This is why I like books. The creator of the novel IS the writer (and, in a sense, the director too). I remember first hearing about this and thinking "Wait a minute... aren't the people who write the shows the ones that CREATED them?" (ie Tim Kring and Heroes), but then I realized that writing out the story/plot isn't the same as writing dialog/scripts...

It's still a collaboration, for the most part. And in your analogy, you could compare the musicians who don't write their music to actors who don't write their parts. They still have a play a part that they aren't immediately invested in.

From what I've read, NCIS will air their last episode for this season on December 11th, which is pretty much in line with most of the other shows.

I'm going to read at lot more. I spend probably 20 minutes a day reading world news, and another 30-40 reading Green environmental type news. And I've added another 15-20 minutes for Congressional/Political news for the new Congressional News Thread I started.
But I think with what new time I'll have in December I'm going to tackle the large number of books that've piled up on my bookshelves that are unread.

I had long since abandoned TV as well, until a friend told me about House and BSG, then later Dexter and Heroes. He also suggested Jericho, which I have the DVDs for the first season sitting next to me. I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
During the pause between seasons when they weren't airing new House or BSG (the only 2 I was watching at that time), I kinda stopped watching BSG whereas I picked up House again the second it came back. I intend to catch back up on BSG soon though, maybe I'll find em online tonight.

I'm watching NBA games online and I have to say that commercials are obnoxious. If they weren't bad enough to begin with, they repeat over and over and over the same darn ones! How do you guys stand them? I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad I don't have commercials in my life anymore. (Except for during NBA games, I mean, and I don't know how much longer I can take those.)
