I'd give this an introduction, but for the life of me I have no idea what to say.

WTF! You'd think they were all singing to raise money for some sort of cause or disease or disaster!

But, wow, some of those stars look totally different now. Judd Nelson? Steve Guttenberg?

Daryl Hannah looked stunning, but a "celebrity" video with Tonya Harding, Robert England, Dee Snider and Right Said Fred? was Anna Nicole Smith's baby daddy busy that day?

So Mickey Rourke is only known for 9 1/2 Weeks?

Yeah, Daryl Hannah still looks amazing.

And I don't know if Milli Vanilli was really singing...

Presumably that's the only show of his that's going to be a part of the Norwegian station it's an ad for.

Am I the only person to whom it seemed obvious the whole thing was lip-sunk?

I was having trouble figuring out who I was most embarrassed for, but I've decided its Jason Alexander. He's got a surprising amount of screen-time looking positively ridiculous.

Darryl Hannah gets points for somehow coming off as cool in the midst of the monstrosity.

Jeez, that was cringe-worthy.

It's actually not a bad show. Wiki:

quote:
Gylne tider (first season: Gyldne tider, in English: Golden times) is a Norwegian television series that currently airs on TV2. The show ran on television for three seasons, in 2002, 2004 and 2006. In the series we meet presenter Øyvind Mund, cameraman Steinar Marthinsen and sound engineer Ingar Thorsen who travel to meet their childhood heroes.

...

The 3rd season began 29 October, 2006. This time was that all about international stars, and the series had become increasingly focused on only the eighties. The third series consisted of eight regular program, plus a "Best of" and a "behind the scenes" program. A total of 62 stars participated in the 3rd season, including Linda Evans, Pamela Sue Martin, Lorenzo Lamas, Sabrina, Samantha Fox, Mark Hamill, Bo Derek, Al Corley, Bruce Boxleitner, Richard Chamberlain, Glenn Medeiros, The Bangles, Duane Loken, Mel Smith and Peter Shilton.

Those people in the video are all the people they interviewed this season. The interviews are pretty great. Informal, funny, challenging. It's basically them just hanging out with these people who were famous in the 70s, 80s or 90s and catch up on their lives and discuss popular culture. And sometimes get them to do ridiculous stuff.

Here are some of the interviews:
R
icky Schroder (that kid from The Champ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbFybMdfqng

Sherilyn Fenn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JB2vitrRR6w

Ricki Lake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTDD_NKNAFE

And here's a video from a previous season where they lip sync "We are the world": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQOeDYDOCKc
