Alrighty, so I managed to get my friends to play it, after some fumbling around we figured out that if we copied over my singleplayer save into the save game slot of the multiplayer/saves folder and then use the dedicated server of NWN2 we could play from where that save left off, in this case the first part of the actual NW arch at the docks district.

I was my level 5 Drow Sorceror aiming for red dragon disciple, my friend a level 4 fighter aiming for divine champion, and my remaining friend when he finally diegned to join us, as a monk aiming for who knows.

The games cinematic/convo system really needs to be reworked, like a dedicated "speaker" should be inbuilt, not just whoever manages to randomly trigger a cutscene, like the party leader should be the one to be the requirement for storylined conversations and cutscenes.

Also, because servers are faulty and progress especially character progress can be lost, so thankfully we can export characters, but for some reason we cant cleanup the 2 dozen exported characters that we happen to create and end up choosing the wrong one.

Also, the game lacks the ability it seems to log into the DM mode while already ingame, if we know the password we shouldnt have to reload the game as the DM client to get anywhere.

My next beef, cinematics while thankfully arent skippable are however ANNOYING in the sense that while the triggerer is convoing the other humans cant do jack squatte, and ahve to wait for the convo to end each and every time before resuming our murder or pickpocketing, or whatever, this even applies somehow to minor conversations the non cutscene ones too, this is absurd, when 1 player is in a cutscene the others should be able to move around, engage in trades, and fight baddies unless its important. At the very least let his be possible Bioware for the minor conversations????

Next, the DM toolset is ridiculasly hard to understand its not intuitive has no inbuilt tutorial that I can scribe with my telepathic genius brain, oh SORRY ATARI for not possessing the nessasary SPACE BRAIN required to "get" the tutorial. At least the tubes seem to have aot of guides but it would have been nice if it were possible to learn how to use it without learning how to use it, yknow what I mean? What happened to the days where one could intuitive grasp a games mechanics within 20 minutes of play??? Those days seem gone forever [Frown]

Also what happened to the PVP? It seems nearly every damn area is a no PVP zone despite me turning the game to full PVP, maybe I should be thankful as my friends have it as their holy crusade to kill my feline familiar but c'mon full pvp should be full pvp.

But to put aside the bile, once your past the ugly and unintuitive nature of the games multiplayer it at least gets a bit fun, after you know discounting the stupid cinematics that delay the action and the role playing. The action on D&D Hardcore rules, since you know I am a hardcore avid D&D fan and anythingless is bleshemy, the action sequences and dungeons clearing is fun and I had alot of laughs, especially when my monk friend died over and over getting past a room of fire ball traps while my caster with all my wards got through without a scratch and ninja looted it.

Its a good D&D experience, although I suspect that the campaign is soo bulky that I wouldnt really suggest it unless everyone hasnt already played it through, basically I think whats best is the DM should make his own campaign with the toolset.

Although I suspect by the time hes half done D&D 4th Edition will be out and will solve all our problems.

I've been reading D&D books for about the last 3 years, and played Icewind Dale and Baulders Gate when they came out, and playing a campaign back yay back when 7 years ago in high school.

My apologies, Blayne. I was unaware that Dragonlance followed all the rules of D&D... which edition?

Forgotten Realms holds around 50% of my 100 or so novels, Dragonlance like Eberron for all intents and purposes follows what happens to be the latest edition of D&D at the time of writing of said novel, to play and create a Dragonlance campaign you need the Players Hand book, the dragonlance campaign setting, the Dungeon masters guide and the monster manual, so in our case right now 3.5, back when i read the War of the Lance trilogy I suspect they were using 2nd Ed (1984-5ish).

Nowadays its 3.5 until 4th edition is out.
