I don't post often. But I was usually able to find some sort of amusement reading the threads here. This entire community has become very hateful and immature. I no longer enjoy opening the forums to find out any new interesting news or what is going on in the lives of my fellow hatrackers. It's like a soap opera. All anybody cares about is what Blayne said in another thread, or how many times someone has offended them in the past. For this reason, I'm leaving. I don't plan to come back. I've got plenty of stress in my life, I don't need it online. Maybe I'll check by once and a while to see if the forum as a whole has cleaned itself up a bit.
Mostly, I feel bad for Papa Moose for all of the disrespect everyone shows him. The man has had to lock and delete a thread at least three times and none of you can let it go. It's like a bunch of toddlers. Blayne, I have nothing against you man. But I think the majority of people here have made it clear that they don't like you. I'm not saying that your issues aren't important or that you are not as good as anyone else. But it occurs to me that if a group of people didn't seem interested in what I had to say I would leave. I'm sure there are forums with a lot of people who enjoy talking about the same things you do. Why not look for them? I can help you find one if you want, I know plenty of gaming forums you might enjoy. Just please don't stick around only to get the last word in an ongoing argument you're in with somebody. It's not cool to win fights online. Unless you're playing counter-strike or Diablo 2 in my case.
People, If you don't like Blayne, don't open his threads. Is it really that hard to just pass over the titles? If just the name of a thread bothers you, only more grief awaits inside. There's no point in opening them. You're only instigating a fight when you get into it with people in threads.
All in all I've enjoyed my stay here. I felt a part of the community no matter how little I contributed. I was planning on writing a landmark recently, but I felt it was unnecessary to share my story knowing that someone would start a fight in the thread. Which is why I'm asking that if anybody wants to reply to this thread, only make it to say goodbye to me. Not to argue with anything I've said. I honestly don't care what any of you think at this point. You've all proven to me that you are unable of having civil conversation with someone. Someone making a "highly knowledgeable counter-argument" to my opinion is only going to strengthen my decision. Either way, it wouldn't change what I think of the forum. I also want to ask PJ that I would consider it a favor if he locked this thread if any type of discussion is being had in it. Consider it a "Saying Goodbye" card for me and sign your name or something.
It's been fun.

Edit: My apologies. I guess people are misunderstanding me. I just assumed that people would read that I did NOT mean the whole forum was a bunch of jerks. I'm still upset, and I am leaving.
I believe the saying goes "Don't let a few bad eggs ruin the bunch" or something. Unfortunately, when it's as easy as not coming back to a certain website to ignore the bad eggs, that's exactly what happens. I think the good eggs know who they are and they'll be the ones I'll be happy to see post here.

The point of this, Greg, is that everyone is giving you the same amount of courtesy you're giving the community. The "entire community" isn't hateful and immature, it's just that certain issues are sticking out like a sore thumb at the moment.
People are reacting to you like this because you've effectively insulted a remarkable amount of people that fall nowhere within your judgment of the forum.
Edit to add: dang, that was fast. Everyone isn't a jerk, good stuff.

Sad to see you go. You're going to miss TomDavidson's 30,000th post.
I know I silently leave from time to time either because I am annoyed at some users who I think disrupt the forum , time restraints, or because I find the current ebb and flow of topics uninteresting.
I always come back tho to check just that one thing (or ask advice) and I am hooked again. I do hope this flow of childishness which lack thereof use to be Hatrack's main appeal ebbs away.
