Leonard Cohen to tour Canada and then the US this year.

This almost makes up for me missing Tom Waits a couple years ago.

Dates and tickets here.

That's such awesome news, I'll have to get a hold of some tickets, that man has got to be the greatest living poet in the world.

Anyone ever seen him perform?

I can't imagine him playing in a large venue, if it was more than, oh, a few hundred folks in the audience it'd seem too impersonal to me.

Dates are now up. No US dates announced yet, but I am hoping they will come soon. For those of you in Canada, the Toronto and Montreal tickets are available for pre-sale I believe.

Tour Dates Listed Here

Can Leonard Cohen actually sing? I heard him "sing" "Born to Lose" on Elton John's Duets album, and he was awful.

He was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to a standing ovation by his peers. [Smile]

Omega, he is more known for his lyricism than singing. The latter has been described in a variety of ways, to put it mildly. I find it delicious.

As for he, himself?

quote:
I was born like this, I had no choice
I was born with the gift of a golden voice

Master of tongue-in-cheek.
