So in the most awesome character driven show of the 21st century Jericho America is finally or seems to be finally recovering from 23 terrorist nuclear attacks on major cities, however theres a catch, the USA is split in do with the Mississippi dividing the two, with Texas still independent of the two but leaning towards the ASA.

The ASA's founding government or at least the power behind the scenes is the cause of the terrorists attacks using the chaos and confusion of the attacks to allow them to rally together the people under a new government with virtually a blank check from the people to reform America as they see fit and using the sympathies of the world (as the major nations of the world did what they could to help the people while the Federal government was in shambles) to gain from them a blank check, essentially a wide ranging forgiveness of America's debt national debt.

So what would happen:

ASA with Texas vs USA. (Asa consisting of eveyr state west of the Mississippi)

ASA vs USA Texas Neutral.

ASA vs USA with Texas.

The current situation is that there are UN peacekeepers patrolling the river but theyll probably bug out once serious fighting happens.

Its been about 6 months since this was reveiled and based on my previous thread participation there is about a grand total of 4 people, 5 including my pet rock who watch the show and these are rather trivial plotpoints that shouldn't effect your appreciation of the show even if you are stuck watching the first season still. Its not like I revealed incredibly important information like the fact that Hawkins is black Oh Noes! SORRY *SPOILER ALERT* Richard Hawkins is black */spoilers*

Yeah, seriously, spoiler alerts, at the very least reference the fact that this is about Jericho and it's a spoiler thread in the thread title then.

I've only seen the first half of the first season, and I've been meaning to watch the rest, and I'd like to find out how it happens from the show, rather than you.

If you please.

Anyone keeping up with Jericho? I'm a couple episodes into the second season. It's interesting. Some of the happenings at the national level strain my suspension of disbelief, but the whole thing is so surreally wacky that I'm going along with it for now.

Whoever plays Jake Green is a pretty stellar actors.

I'm really curious to see where this goes.

I'm really enjoying it. I'm current so there's only one more filmed episode that I haven't seen. It's really iffy whether the network will order a third season. The rumor is that they are filming a final episode with two endings - a "satisfying" ending to use if the series is not being renewed; and a cliffhanger to use if there will be a third season.

I have been watching this show from when it first aired and enjoy it very much. There are some major problems with the national political alliances. First and most glaring is the total lack of knowlege for Western U.S. dynamics. Lumping in the midwestern states with them is just not realistic.

If I was to consider any kind of breakup for the national scene it would go something like this:

1. The Eastern States would form some kind of alliance similar to the first 13 states, only with more included. They might even create a makeshift government closely resembling the U.S. governmentt as the Consitution dictates.

2. Southern States would be a serious threat to unity. A few of them would not hesitate to resist U.S. national control and try to break off from the Union. There would be a civil war in the South similar to the U.S. Civil War, only among themselves rather than the North (East). Here I can see a Mississippi River divide like in the show. Texas would be a Southern state, although trouble would exist in the lower south with those who want to join Mexico.

3.The midwest is a big question mark. There might be one or two states that join reluctantly with some in the South as moderates; such as the state represented in Jericho. Others would gravitate toward the West, although again as moderates. If things become more serious, it might even become a front line battle ground. This is especially the case when it comes to growing food as others fight for the land.

4. The Western U.S. would form a union similar to the Eastern states, although much more independant of each other. Utah, Southern Idaho, parts of Nevada and Arizona, Wyoming, and maybe a few others *might* come under the control of the LDS Church for a season by the influence of the number of members who live in them. It would eventually form a loose governing body more like what the U.S. was like right after the Revolutionary War. Like Texas, Arizona and New Mexico would have troubles with those wanting to join Mexico.

5. California and the West Coast would form their own government; with the seat of power obviously in California. They would accept any state wanting to join them (possibly Nevada and Arizona as annexed), but have ultimate control. The dynamics would be complicated. It would have the form of Constitutional government, but make draconian socialist laws. Pockets of resistance would exist in southern California among the two opposites of Conservatives and those wanting to join Mexico.

I do think there would be a good amount of unity among all the states, but it would be a rough map. How the above situation would escalate would be up to how serious the population was to remaining a United States.

Edit: Some state geography.

Is it just my screen that has a "John McCain for President" ad at the bottom of the page?

A page about a show that revolves around nuclear devastation in the USA?

[Dont Know]
