I don't remember who fired it up last spring; but if you begin another NCAA Basketball bracket as the days near -- be sure to ping me and let me know (I don't check Hatrack every day anymore).
I definately want a crack at it. I'm expecting great things from my Kansas team...

I'm in for a bracket. Locally we'll have Kent State in, and who knows, they may even win a game. I'll be rooting for West-by-god-Virginia.

Once the field is set (Sunday evening), we have until Thursday morning to pick the winners of each game. You can pick your personal favorites and/or the better teams to win, and points are assigned according to each game you get right. The points increase each round, so picking the national champion from the very beginning is worth something like 63 points. You can't edit your picks during the course of the tournament, which is really half the fun - I always enjoy watching my bracket fall apart.

Also, does anyone know of a decent internet stream of the tournament games? They're not being televised here in Sampa.

I could not believe Belmont versus Duke. Who on Earth is Belmont? Duke actually played a decent game, and still almost lost. Who are those guys?

Christian school, somewhere down south.
Duke shot poorly, Belmont moved well off the ball.

I, uh, had them picked to lose *says sheepishly*. Yeah, I know I should be loyal to both Kansas teams, but I wasn't, and paid for it last night. I really thought they would croak.
First loss on my bracket

Yeah, Duke was not themselves. And Belmost was a good team, playing its heart out. Coach K said afterward that his team was NOT looking ahead, that they had studied Belmont's film and knew this team was good.
Duke has trouble with good 3-point shooting teams. They also tend to have trouble inside, but getting Zubek back from injury has helped a little. At any rate, Belmont just matched up really nicely, and they almost pulled off a fantastic upset.
I was torn. I've been a Duke fan for over 20 years, ever since I visited the campus as part of the TIP program back in the day. And my daughter loves them - my oldest is such a Duke fan, she has pictures of players in her room and has memorized stats and follows the games religiously. So I was definitely pulling for them, but I also adore the big upset and wanted Belmont to win, in a way too.
Did anyone see the second game, when the Belmont coach came out and was given a standing ovation by the crowd? Very cool. They should be proud of how they played, even though I know they'll be disappointed. Good season for them.
Edit: Oh, and "somewhere down south" = Nashville, TN. Very good academic school, private college. One of the schools on my daughter's radar, actually, though she would need a scholarship of some kind, it's too expensive otherwise. It's a Baptist school, if I'm not mistaken.

My sister and I were at a restaurant here in Durham (and we got a table!). The crowd was split 60/40 - anti-Duke and pro-Duke, respectively (our table of two was split 50/50, though... I think my sister just wanted to see an upset. ). It was a lot of fun.
We stayed for the Wisconsin game, which was a bit closer than it should have been. But the right team won, so all is well.

Yeah, Drake was not nice to me. But then again, Clemson hurt me worse...it's always bad to lose a final four pick in the first round. I'd be able to handle this better if Duke had lost to Belmont, because then a lot more people would be in the same boat as I am.
By the way, there's not nearly enough trash-talking going on in this thread. Go Cats!

My bracket is just an ugly mess of red strike-throughs.
At least my final four teams are still in the running; but two of the ones I had picked for Elite Eight are already out.
I was at a beauty salon of all places on Friday during the Drake game. When that final shot hit at the buzzer, the whole place came out of their seats. You would have thought a bomb dropped. (and this was almost all women)

Yeah, my bracket was really bad, but I didn't expect any less. I mean, I picked BYU to win and they haven't even won a game in the tournament since 1993 (at least that's what my brother-in-law tells me). But maybe one of these days I'll get REALLY lucky (ha, ha, ha). So I did a "second chance" bracket. Hope I do better.

I think maybe I can still beat TStorm, since he appears to have had his heart set on Duke and Clemson

Mine is terrible too, I don't think I can finish anywhere but last - or maybe second to last.
I do have another bracket going with my church - pastor is a huge Kansas fan - and in that one I'm leading. I have Texas to win it all there, so there's hope.
But this one is toast.

Since my brackets are all screwed up, I'm officially cheering for Wisconsin and every upset that doesn't involve Wisconsin losing.

Yeah, you know you're in trouble when you lose a final four pick in the first round. You're in even more trouble when you lose two final four picks by the sweet 16.
But hey, KU can still lose to someone else; North Carolina can still win the whole thing. It's not over till it's over.

NC won't help you... I have NC winning it all, too, and I have 12 of my 16 sweet sixteens alive, as well as all of my elite 8s
