This is not a goodbye message, I'm not going anywhere... just bear with me.
I have been a member of the Hatrack community for a very long time. Therefore, I have always respected and admired all of you enormously. I've taken comments from all of you very much to heart. Recently, I have been in a rut where I have sort of forgotten about the good things in my life, and have focused mainly on problems and concerns that have done a great deal to get me down.
This is a thread, then, to thank all of you for your support and help, and to make a list of all of my accomplishments from this year, as well as joyous events and happy memories. I want you to know that I tend to post, for the most part, when I am upset and in need of a release... and sometimes you want to hear the good things too. So here they are. I will add more to this list as I think of them.
Accomplishments and memorable events:
Junior recital
A lead role in the opera
Honorable mention at NATS
Acceptance to two different summer vocal programs abroad, one in France and one in Italy
Two semesters in Chamber Singers
A choir tour of China
Soprano section leader position at a methodist church
Successful voice teaching (two twelve year old students)
Successful hebrew teaching (one seven year old student)
Another year of classes with good grades
Going to see Eddie Izzard (last night!!)
Seeing a good friend in The Magic Flute and Tales of Hoffmann at the Indy Opera
Seeing my little sister's first high school production of Hello Dolly!
Seeing the boy who has practically become my little brother direct his first show, The Laramie Project
That's all I can think of for right now. I will add more as they come to me. And thank you Hatrack for helping me through the bad times... but thank you also for reading about my good times this year. I am sorry to have been so negative recently. I will try to snap out of it.
