Given the amount in fines he already owes, what can they do?

There is a picture.

I'm pretty amused. I spent two years in anchorage as a kid, and I loved it... I would probably have gotten a kick out of this. Actually, I do now.

Elmendorf, the Air Force Base I lived on in Anchorage, had a feature appear every year they called Mount Elmendorf. It was a large pile of snow, easily twice the height of that snowman, probably more. It was made up of all the snow they had to actually carry out of the streets and runways, and pile somewhere else- they chose an abandoned field.

I went to an elementary called Mount Spurr- actually named after a volcano- but we kids joked that it referred to the gigantic pile of snow left in the playground for us to play on after they plowed the parking lot.

Yay for huge piles of snow, and oversized snow people. snowzilla.org has pictures of miniature snowmen built in protest- holding signs sayings "Snowpeople have rights too!" and "Heck no, we won't go!" in front of what I assume is a government building. I'm highly amused.

If Jesus didn't want Snowzilla to show up on his birthday, he wouldn't have had it snow. Clearly it's a message from God.

Down the road apiece from where I live we had the world's tallest snowman (113 feet tall). He was named Angus, after Angus King, who was our governor at the time.

This year we had the world's tallest snowwoman, who was 122 feet tall, and named Olympia SnowWoman.

If I created a 25 foot snowman and called it Snowzilla, I'd include an audio track of Godzilla roars every time a car drove by.

The snowwoman is cool, but it doesn't have the honest to goodness Snow Person™ quality, whereas Snowzilla is a geuine three-sphere-corncob-pipe Snowman.

Okay that is just awesome! I must have missed the picture before. Too bad he can't charge for pictures with the giant snowman and use it to pay off his fines. Ooooo next year he could do a giant snow Santa and charge for pictures with Santa! LOL

I grew up un Anchorage, and am home visiting right now. I drove by on Christmas eve and there was a group of people standing in front of snowzilla singing Christmas carols. It was entertaining!

Duh, he's not a mexican snowman, he's an illegal Canadian snowman. Whoever heard of a mexican snowman? Honestly? You're insane.

Another Anchorage Hatracker! Oh joyous, joyous day! I'm looking into an internship in Seward, at the Sealife Refuge. If there's any place I spent any time in my childhood, Alaska was my home. I can't wait to see the mountains again.

The principal at our local school has outlawed ALL snowmen, no matter the size. I am tempted to go make one during the holidays on the school grounds. (rubs hands together and laughs maniacally)

That sounds almost as silly as making it illegal to carry stones and drop them in the middle of the road.

I think rather than making one that is easy to destroy, it would be much cooler if all the kids made a little tiny one, of the size to sit in the palm of the hand. Then as they walk onto the school grounds, they should find a place for it and set it down, a silent protest of little tiny snowmen. Bonus: if they get cleaned up, it takes only a minute or two for each kid to make another.

Got to teach them civil disobedience young, you know. [Wink]

The school will be forced to implement a zero-tolerance policy. Miniature snowman? You're KICKED OUT OF SCHOOL FOREVER!

(Gotta teach 'em mindless obedience early.)

You just have to pack the front entrance full of snow, and then pelt the principal with snow balls when he arrives.

That's why it's important to get most of the student body on board beforehand.
