A friend of mine puts together a "Tainted Love" Mix every Singles' Awareness Day (aka Valentine's Day). She has given me permission to share her list this year (not like she has rights to any of these songs, but she did compile them). Here is her post:

Being a little more creative with it this year. Since I'm slowly in the process of reconstructing all my iPod playlists from the crash, I now present.... the Tainted Love Mix!! For all those songs about rejection, breakup bitterness, and stalkerish or otherwise unhealthy relationships.

Somebody More Like You-- Nickel Creek 6. So Cruel-- U2 7. Merilee-- Clive (a local band--one of my friends' husbands is the drummer. Basically sounds like a drinking song for a girl who broke some guy's heart. Also, it features toy piano.) 8. Posession-- Sarah McLachlan 9. You Wanted More-- Tonic 10. Don't Leave Home-- Dido (the most stalkerish song I've ever heard, since it's disguised as a sweet and mushy one) 11. It Ain't Me Babe-- The Turtles (debated whether to do this or the Bob Dylan version, but this one eventually won) 12. Leave-- Matchbox 20 13. Ever Fallen in Love-- Pete Yorn 14. Love Stinks-- The J. Geils Band (yes, I know it's very, very 80s, which normally I can't stand, but this is THE quintessential anti-SA-day song!) 15. Loose Ends-- Imogen Heap 16. Shadowboxer-- Fiona Apple 17.
