What happened to Bean? He just disappears after Giant, and he's never even mentioned in any of the other books, except Exile. Seriously... :'(

Why not let Bean die in peace, off-screen? Do we need to see him croak his last?

To be honest I think Bean would prefer dying off-screen.

For Bean to die off-screen would allow him to live as the legend he is. He could live on with his many children. I'm interested to find out about his children who also had the key turned, and who are floating in space somewhere.

That's right! Just before going up into space with his brilliant babies, he died in an explosion from war. An explosion his own men said no one could have survived.

I bet someone will have first hand experience that relates to Bean in the next book. Probably a child of his.

Well, I'm interested in what happens to Bean's children. After all, Arkanian never really got to show his intelligence or really get to develop it, so I want to see what happens to Bean's children who get to learn from Bean himself. I don't really mind if Bean dies off screen (of course I would prefer him not to be), but I am curious about the children.

I think it'd be cool for Bean to meat up with Arkanian, you know, kinda like Miro did with Val. Idk, just a thought.

"What happened to Bean? He just disappears..."

...silent but deadly through the end. "In space, no one can hear you scream."

I have no problem with Bean being dead in the next book. I think for the most part his story has been told. Though I do imagine a lot of hijinks as he and his kids travel through space. I just find it funny, the thought of Bean up there alone matching wits with a group of hyper-intelligent kids.

I also imagine they would have to stop periodically for supplies and to update their libraries, and perhaps for some technological updates to their ship. So, there is a chance for encounters with other worlds and other people.

None the less, it seems that Bean will be dead in the next book, and I can live with that. However, I can not live without an accounting of his life and death, even if it is a brief accounting by his kids after the fact. I need that resolution, I need that storyline to come to an clean and clear end.

But that's just me.
