It amazes me how well prepared Jon Stewart gets for these things, everytime Cramer makes a reasonable point he gets contradicted by his own past comments [Smile]

Did you have the feeling, watching this, that Cramer had specific instructions to take whatever Stewart said and apologize?

At several points he did have legitimate defenses which he didn't use, and in at least one instance he started to defend himself and then stopped himself cold and backpedaled.

I think CNBC told him to let Stewart do whatever he was going to do so they could move past this and get it out of the daily headlines. CNBC might not have been prepared for how thoroughly Stewart was going to run over Cramer (and CNBC), however.

As Stewart himself pointed out, the Daily Show's attack wasn't fair, and wasn't meant to be. But it was a blindingly accurate attack at CNBC's public perception, fueled by populist anger at smug corporate traders.

Stewart was using cherry-picked segments to make his points, but what he was really slamming was not specific failures, but CNBC's overwhelming arrogance.

I sure wouldn't want to go head to head against John Stewart!

Cramer did seem to bend over and take it. I think he'd have been wise to let it go in the first place, especially since when his moment came, he rolled over and didn't even try. It was all stammering apologies. I hadn't thought about the idea that the network was making him do that, but it is possible.

I couldn't watch the whole thing - way too sad. Even though Jon Stewart made good points and wasn't being unfair.

Don Harrold has been screaming about Cramer's incompetence for a long time. If I ever get my debt paid off, I'm going to try using Harrold's service for investing advice. He seems to have a much better idea of what's going on.

That was great. Blayne, you might want to put Jon Stewarts name in the title....I almost didn't click on this thread because I didn't know what it was about. I thought it was a Sinefield reference at first....lol...

What a great interview.

You can watch the full uneditted interview on Hulu. It's in the clips section. It's about half an hour long. I haven't watched the show version so I don't know exactly what got cut.
