It looks kind of stupid, but I actually want to see it, if only because I've been waiting for a real G.I. Joe movie since I was eight.

The CGI looks pretty sharp doesn't it? But on the other hand I really don't see why they need to pump 200 million dollars into a franchise movie when they could make an original concept film with the requisite amount of action and explodey-effects. It wouldn't matter if people knew the name of the franchise if they're going to spend 50 million on advertising anyway.

Because G.I. Joe's sister-series Transformers's live action movie made over half a billion dollars worldwide, because a bunch of adults used to play with the toys. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero= Fellow beloved 80s toyline.

(It sure didn't make that money based on Shia's acting...)

Good grief...last summer's biggest hit was based on characters created for ten-cent comics seventy years ago.
