If any of you remember my one and only landmark I'm getting married in August so in order to support my future family I got another job at a Credit Repair Company in my town.

What do I do there? I'm a telemarketer. I sit at a computer while the phone calls people and connects me to them if they pick up. There were a couple of rough spots in procedures because I got the job when the company first started up. But we've recently made a deal with a large network of car dealerships that when people fail credit for financing we are referred to them.

Since we've been getting the new list sales has become surprisingly easy for me. But not for everyone. As of yesterday I became the most revenue generating employee of the company and someone said "you've found your niche."

Apparently I was meant to be a telemarketer.

Are you enjoying yourself? Making good money? Then there's not a thing wrong with that niche.

Aside from the fact that I will never, ever be polite when I hang up on you. [Smile]

A niche of talking to people is a splendid skill. You can use it in many positions.

Perhaps, if you do not like what you are selling, in the future you can switch to a product you believe in.

And I have always been polite to telemarketers, although I frequently lie to them.

Hehe. I love that you don't consider lying to them wasting their time. [Razz]

I think that's great that you've risen to the top - especially if you really do like doing it. My dad was in sales for a while and now he reviews real-estate appraisals for the state. He credits his sales experience as critical to his present success though.

To think, in a different life, we could have been friends!

Perhaps we may yet overcome our differences and learn to appreciate idiosyncracies of our different cultures. I feel that with true compassion and understanding as the goal we may yet reach a wonderful friendship.

Tell you what, give me your phone number and I'll give you a call sometime, between the hours of 6 and 11 eastern time. Unless it's a Tuesday or Sunday.

if you are a creditor looking for info on my brother, I'll yell at you (my brother and I have issues and creditors harassing me, who has seen him once in 7 years, really upsets me). Otherwise, I will be polite as I hang up.

I do bad things to telemarketers...

...really bad things...

... don't call me, you'll regret it.

I got it from my grandma - she used to keep a whistle by the phone for them.

On the bright side, if you're a good telemarketer there are plenty of other things you can be good at too [Smile]

Oops! Did you think I meant pretending that I would buy their product? That would be very bad of me. I usually tell them I'm my daughter and that I'm not home. It saves me having to say "I'm really not interested" several times, so I look at it as saving them time.
